Hold Me

amidst the morning chores,

the tender thing kept gazing at me,

and said, 'hold me, dear mother...'

it was the only leaf that

got left behind

from being cooked

I said 'sorry' and

held it for as long as i could.

Anxiety

There was a constant chatter

in my head.

I kept waiting for you

at the doors of my phone.

I sighed and told myself,

"Blessed are those

who have a handful to do"

Then I realized, a tad later,

that I've been searching and

waiting at the wrong places.

I had all the love already

and reassurance is optional.

What Am I Doing These Days

A long forgotten friend asked me

what I was doing these days.

After a brief ponder, I say:

Am trying to lay my hands on,

on all that's my bother.

Grasp it, and look closer.

At times, i wonder if it's my error.

I know I must break it down, and

define each bother,

its characteristic

And then, think of a fix.

At times, I think, find, apply.

But fail, either because

i don't know if it's the right path,

Or because i don't persist.

And then, I blame myself

for holding things, or,

at times, I realise and let go.

At times, I wonder if I let go,

Is it either at the wrong time

or the wrong thing.

I AM

I am the peacock

ask the rains

I am the dog

ask my friends

I am the cheer

ask the kids

I am sanctity

ask my books

I am the dot

ask my focus

I am the student

ask obedience

I am the ground

ask silence

I am steel

ask the resolve

I am the canyon

ask my thoughts

I am trouble

ask my problems

Purpose

At times,
I feel the seconds,
of the time given to me
ticking and toking
I feel it as visible as...

the throb of the heart
caged inside my chest

the pensive chair, rocking
back and forth

the trickling drops
of a leaking tap
that cannot withhold itself

the one-eyed blinkers of vehicles
raring to head left or right

the blinking series of tiny lights
hung outside on name boards,
outside of shops

the waves on the beach shore
marching ahead and receding

the alternating shriek of
the red-blue sirens, belonging
to a speeding ambulance

the dripping glucose lining up,
waiting to be infused
into my recuperating bloodstream.

I lucidly see the purpose
of this feeling...
and yet, I fail to act, to do, and
deliver with all my might.

Compass

Babe,
You are the compass
How would you get lost?
